December 19 will be held at the Auditorium Vittorio Foa in Formia “Notes in freedom. Review of musical encounters”. ”For the occasion Redi Hasa and Maria Mazzotta propose, with the special participation of jazz pianist Rita Marcotulli, a version of “URA”, their latest album, released this year and produced by the record company Finisterre. The event is titled “URA. Songs and music of the Big East”and is configured as an extraordinary opportunity to hear, in a reworked key world-jazz version, one of the most popular album of 2014. As you can imagine it, Rita Marcotulli – one of the Italian jazz musicians most appreciated in the world who can boast collaborations with Chet Baker, John Christensen, Enrico Rava and Pat Metheny – will help to enrich an album born in the intentions of the two authors in the sign of mixing between different musical cultures. Redi Hasa, Albanian cellist, is known in Italy as a soloist of the ensemble of Ludovico Einaudi and as a member of the Puglia BandAdriatica. Maria Mazzotta, singer with an extraordinary and unmistakable voice, is famous in the scenario of contemporary popular music to be part of the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, one of the most important and influential of our country. Their album has opened a new path in the encounter between the Mediterranean musics and the musical structures, which here are placed in a very pleasant line, linking, across the Adriatic, the Balkans, the Carpathians and the areas of southern Italy. The program which will host the event is sponsored by the Municipality of Formia in collaboration with the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
