From November 21 to 23 will be held in Cagliari Andrea Parodi Award, dedicated to the memory of the Sardinian and former lead singer of Tazenda, died in 2006. The event is organized by the Fondazione Andrea Parodi, with the art direction of singer Elena Ledda – with whom Andrea has collaborated leaving an indelible mark on contemporary popular music.
The Andrea Parodi Award is the only competition, in Italy, exclusively devoted to popular music, or world music, such as specifying the organizers in a press release. It takes place in three nights, during which the artists perform selected by a panel of industry experts. In this sixth edition the finalists are as follows: Alfina Scorza with “Li penzieri” (in Cilento lenguage), Canto Antico ” Me volesse addurmì” (Naples), Damm & Dong with “Luntan ” (Naples), Dominique with “Back” (in Sicilian), Francesca Incudine with “Iettavuci” (in Sicilian), Jerbasuns with “Par Flaba June fradi picul” (in Friulian carnico), Ruso Sala and Caterinangela Fadda with “La meva terra “(in Catalan), Sara Marini with “A Rundine in sas aeras ” (Sardinian), Tres Cordes with “Tres Jorns in Paris” (in Occitan), Unavantaluna with “Isuli” (in Sicilian).
In addition to the artists in the race, during the three nights will be able to attend performances of international guests, including Baba Sissoko, Francesco Demuro, Antonio Zambujo, the project ‘Dances from the sea’ by Mauro Palmas, Rigel Quartet, David Ugly and the winner the last edition of the Prize, Elsa Martin.
