Under the artistic direction of Vincenzo Santoro, will be held at the library town of Zollino, in the province of Lecce, a double event on the rites of Holy Week that affect Puglia. The day of April 14 will be devoted to the Salento, a meeting entitled I Passiuna tu Cristù of Greek Salento. On April 15, instead will face the issues related to holy week in northern Apulia, in the encounter with the title The sounds and songs of Easter in Puglia. As you can read in the notes, the aim of the initiative is to “increase knowledge of musical repertoires associated with the rites of the Holy Week in Puglia, from ‘Passion ‘ of Greek Salento up to the songs of the Gargano. There are multimedia presentations of sound material result of field research (from historical collections in newer recordings ) and some specialized publications. At the end of the second day, there is a ‘ritual performance’ with singers, old and young, from the areas where they were carried out searches.
