At the Circolo Gianni Bosio of Rome, in via S. Ambrogio, will start on October 3 the course of “Sicilian traditional Drum and Singing”. The lessons, which will last until the end of june 2014, will be held by Francesco Salvatore, a student of Sicilian percussionist Nando Citarella and member of the group Unavantaluna – Cumpagnia di Musica Siciliana. The course will be structured in weekly group meetings, lasting two hours each, during which “we will discuss the technical specifications of the Song and Drum and the Sicilian repertoire (with particular reference to the material in the archive of the Circolo Gianni Bosio) and playing styles. Attention will be paid to the educational growth of each participant and the involvement of participants in the initiatives and activities of study that will be proposed during the year”.
Thursday, September 19, at 17:00, there will be a presentation of the course and a first free lesson with Francesco Salvadore.
