The Andrea Parodi Award, which was held in Cagliari 21 to 23 November 2013, and which has been discussed in this column in recent weeks, was won by the Sicilian group Unavantaluna. The ensemble, which includes Pietro Cernuto, Carmelo Cacciola , Luca Centamore , Francesco Salvadore and Arnaldo Vacca, presented the song “Isuli” and a cover of Parodi “Pandela”, also performed at the close of the evening. In addition to the award for the Sardinian singer who died in 2006, the Unavantaluna were awarded prizes for the best arrangement and best lyrics.
Until the final vote, the Sicilian group had shared ex aequo the votes of the jury with two artists who were a great success among the public and the critics: Francesca Incudine, a Sicilian musician who presented the song “Iettavuci”, and the Catalan singer Rusò Sala. The latter, accompanied by Sardinian guitarist Caterinangela Fadda, played the song of his own composition “La meva terra” and “Ninna Noa” by Andrea Parodi, and received the award for the best performance and the SIAE prize.
