It had been announced and partly anticipated new album by Vinicio Capossela. The occasions were varied, although largely due to the activities that have seen him involved with more consistency in recent months, as the Sponz Festival and, in general, the attendance of the popular expressive world. A world that Capossela has, to be fair, always lapped, but thanks to “return” to Calitri (country of origin of his parents) began to take on the traits of a real set of references. First styling – many of its historical parts were, on several occasions, proposed again with the now famous Band of the Post, consisting of musicians from Irpinia usually engaged in music for weddings – and then imaginary. The latter consists of a new framework expressive Vinicio has already proposed in the beautiful novel “The Country of coppoloni” and, more recently, in the film-documentary by Stefano Obino. The new album – whose title bounced even for years not only in the music world – will come in early March, to confirm the extraordinary productivity of an artist who, with increasing sophistication and consistency, engages in various forms of expression. For the time was moved up from one of the songs that make up the lineup, released today by the Corriere della Sera. The song title is “The Pumminale” and was presented with a video shot by Lech Kowalski. As you can read in the presentation notes spread from Capossela facebook page, the song was inspired by “in one of the twin souls of man that popular culture – where was blurred the line between reality and the world of the truth – have become accustomed to know”. A world that reflects his “duplicity” and even his “polytheism”: “A world in which there is no clear distinction between human and animal, in which all of nature is an expression of divinity and therefore unknowable except by direct experience”. In short, a small statement of intent, which can be “read” in the nice video shown below.
