There’s also a small part of Spoleto in the 64th Coupe Mondiale of Accordion, wich was held in Shangai from 1st to 6th of october. First Asian edition of the competition organized by the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes. Virtuoso and digital accordion categories has seen the triumph of Pietro Adragna who has attended to the Asian competition thanks to a scholarship from the Italian Accordion Culture won in Spoleto last August, on the occasion of the 5th edition of Strumenti&Musica Festival. And in the city of the Dukes, Adragna has already show off himself winning the Senior Varietè category. The satisfaction for the Italian Accordion Culture chaired by Gianluca Bibiani, under the artistic direction of Mirco Patarini, doesn’t not only limits to the performance of Adragna.
It has to be noticed also the good performance of Matteo Petronio. Winner of the other scholarship offered by the IAC, which was awarded in Spoleto the victory in the Junior Varietè category, has got a good third place in the Junior Virtuoso category won by German Matthias Matke. Petronio and especially Adragna keep the italian tricolor flag flying in an edition dominated by Serbs and Chinese accordionists. Is Serbian, in fact, Nedad Ivanovic, winner of the 64th Coupe Mondiale. Pedrag Radisavlijevic is also native from Balkans, winner of the Coupe Mondiale Junior. The double chinese success of Adragna demonstrates the tremendous value of the Strumenti&Musica Festival and the ability to seek out the talents of Italians by IAC.Through the accordion, the IAC is ambassador of Italy and of Spoleto in the world, in fact it will be the Umbrian city to host, in August 2012, the 65th edition of the Coupe Mondiale.
