From October 29 to November 2 will be held at the Auditorium Music Park in Rome, the Roman Ottobrata. Homage to Pasolini. The event – which is an original production of the Fondazione Musica per Roma – has as its main aim to celebrate the memory and work of the great Italian intellectual, presenting in particular a number of insights on some of the topics that have most affected. Ambrogio Sparagna present – along with popular Orchestra Popolare Italiana and il Coro Popolare directed by Anna Rita Colaianni – “I am a force of the Past”, a musical thought in the context of some of the poems of the poet from Friuli, “set among the ancient sounds of the Roman campaign and Basilicata”. As you can read in the notes to the presentation of the project, “against the backdrop of projected images, taken from the Vangelo secondo Matteo, spread throughout the show which also makes use of the presence of Giorgio Onorato, the longest Italian singer, from his 87 years, continues the great story of romanesca popular song and Aisha Cerami, beautiful singer, actress and voice, one of the stars of the rediscovery of Roman folk tradition”. Besides the concert, the program includes some events that will take place at the Idroscalo of Ostia, the place where Pasolini was murdered in 1975, including “… and beside me there is only the shadow. Songs for Pier Paolo Pasolini-Concerto Breve”, by Ambrogio Sparagna, OPI Soloists, Popular Choir. The relationship of Pasolini with Basilicata will then be investigated through the exhibition “Pasolini in Matera. Photo exhibition of 40 years from the filming of the Vangelo secondo MAtteo”, organized in collaboration with the APT Basilicata, Basilicata Region and Film Commission, and the meeting with the Totarella and Lucania, among the most active players in the scenario of the traditional music of Basilicata, in the program respectively on 30 and 31 October.
