It will take place on 5 and 6 September in Ferla, in the province of Syracuse, the fifteenth edition of “Lithos. National review of folk, acoustic and contemporary music”, by Carlo Muratori. Previously we reported about this event, not only because it now has a rich tradition, marked by a not obvious programming. But mainly because – thanks to the efforts of Muratori, who persistently maintains the high quality of the proposal of the festival – is a good example of how we can offer a good selection of music inspired by local traditions, with results that are very different from each other , and enhance, at the same time, an extraordinary rich area in history and on the cultural landscape. If we exclude the presence of the Calabrian singer and former voice of the Parto delle Nuvole Pesanti Peppe Voltarelli – who will perform Saturday 5th in the show “Complaining as a hypothesis”, the rest of the billboard hosts resident artists. From the same Carlo Muratori, who will perform after Voltarelli, accompanied by his orchestra, in “Salt – chloride pure sound”. Sunday will be the turn of I Pupi di Surfaro, one of the most interesting bands that have emerged in recent years in Sicily (remember that their song “Cantu of amuri”, which became the album “Suttaterra” released with the artistic production of Daniele Grasso for DCave Records, in 2013 won the prize “Music against the Mafia”).
All concerts will be held at the Staircase of the Convent of the Capuchin Fathers. For other initiatives, more directly linked to the discovery of the territory and other cultural elements which characterize it, you can consult the program here.
