The Foundation “Sergio per la Musica” announced the organization of the event that the public expected probably more than any other. It is “Moon in June”, a three-day concerts organized at sunset at Isola Maggiore. The formula is similar to that of “Music for Sunset”, the festival conceived by the late Sergio Piazzoli some years ago and which has left an indelible memory in artistic and cultural world. “Moon in June” – that through the name pays homage to Robert Wyatt, leader of Soft Machine and honorary president of the Foundation that bears the name of Piazzoli – will take place June 19 to 21 and will have as its artistic director Vinicio Capossela. Which – linked by a strong friendship with Piazzoli – will close the show with “Sirens freshwater”, a concert designed for the occasion (it will be the only not free), to be attended by Enrico Lazzarini bass, Vincenzo Vasi to theremin, samples and percussion, Alessandro “Asso” Stefana harmonium and guitar. Attending the concert also some special guests, among which the Trio Amadei (piano, violin and cello), the ensemble Micrologus (which Capossela performed with at “Canticles”, the concert dedicated to the figure of St. Francis and created their own with Piazzoli) and guitarist Gary Lucas. On other days “Moon in June” will present us, however, an extraordinary series of free events. Saturday, June 20 will perform in a tribute to Jeff Buckley entitled “A Touch of Grace”, Gary Lucas and Alessio Franchini, accompanied by Andy Paoli, Alessio Macchia, Dario Arnone and Sara Loreni. The same day, at 18.30, will perform the Trio Amodei, with a repertoire that includes Trio in G by Debussy, Ravel, The Swan Saint-Sens. The first evening of the festival will be inaugurated by Giovanni Guidi, Umbrian pianist and great promise of international jazz.
