It is going to take away the tenth edition of the Festival of Canto a braccio of Borbona. From Friday, September 18 to Sunday 20 will alternate poets improvisers, custodians of a tradition expressive, born in socio-cultural contexts related to sheep, still kept alive by old and young. Guest of honor of the festival will be Ambrogio Sparagna – organ player, composer and researcher – who will inaugurate the program with a concert at 21 in the Concezio Colandrea square, the end of which will perform young organ player of the territory. To poets and improvised poetry will be dedicated the other two days of the event: the evening of Saturday, starting at 21, and Sunday from 13, on the occasion of a friendly moment that will be enriched by folk songs and dances. Among the poets who will perform some of the most important we remember the improvised poetry in eighth rhyme (Pietro De Acutis, Berardino Perilli), which has its area of election in Amatrice, whose repertoires have been documented since the early seventies by Giancarlo Palombini, ethnomusicologist and professor at the University of Perugia. Today the documentation collected by Palombini is largely merged into a digital archive of paramount importance to anyone involved in the subject, organized according to international scientific standards, both regarding the organization of materials and the quality of the reversal of the materials originally collected on tape.
