Francesco Loccisano, battente guitar virtuoso, has performed the last edition of Concertone May 1 in Rome.
To tell the truth, beyond the political considerations and, in general, artistic – that would link to a more organized space, inevitably pulling in dance especially the quality of the proposal overall musical concert – you can not admit that grew even in a stage like that (now) emblazoned, the presence of the “popular” music. Or rather increased the attendance of a number of proposals that are inspired by languages that alternative music and, increasingly, fueling a stylistic reworking evidently inspired by the music of oral tradition. Examples are some artists and band that those who follow the “neo- traditional” movement knows and that for the first time have succeeded in an important number on the famous stage in Piazza San Giovanni: from Agricantus to the Bandabardò, from Modena City Ramblers to the Orchestraccia, from Francesco di Bella (24 Grana) to Enrico Capuano Tammurriata Rock, from Tarantaproject with Daniele Ronda Crifiu and finally Francesco Loccisano.
The latter has performed with Aldo Cazzullo, journalist of the Corriere della Sera and writer, who at the Concertone told a part of “Our Stories”, the theme of the evening. Loccisano is, as mentioned above, a virtuoso of the battente guitar (he has also collaborated with the late Bob Brozman), who plays with an original look and who plays with great passion. A few months ago he released his latest album, titled Mastrìa, a collection of original songs, traditional and international reworkings of the guitar repertoire. His performance in Piazza San Giovanni has certainly caught the attention of many amateurs: we shown some video contributions at the bottom, referring to the website of the guitarist for contacts and more news.
