After the success of the inaugural concert, playing tango and jazz, and the important influx of people who daily attend the world competition, now it is time for the concert dedicated to orchestras. The protagonists of this evening will be classical music and of course the dissonance.
Tomorrow August 24th, at the end of the afternoon, we should remind people that the selections are open to the public and the entry is free. At 21.00hrs the Evening Concert will be held and will be attended by some of the major Italian and international ensembles. The evening will be’ opened by “Luciano Fancelli accordion Orchestra”, founded in 1989 with the aim of spreading the music of the umbrian composer worldwide. Directing the orchestra will be Maestro Marco Gatti: Director and composer, he studied with Guido Baggiani, Matteo D’amico and Franco Donatoni. His work as a composer is very wide, he has worked with the best European orchestras and with eminent musicians such as Bruno Canino, Sandro Verzani, Gianluca Littera and ” I Solisti della Scala”. As a composer, his work is very varied, ranging from writing symphonic music to theatre music. He is Professor of composition at the University.
After that will follow the “Orquestra de Acordeon de Brusque” conducted by Maestro Bruno Moritz: from Santa Catarina to Spoleto to interpret traditional music of southern Brazil. The Accordion Ensemble “Concertino”, winner of the Piazzolla Music Award 2012 will on the other hand, perform famous passages from the classical repertoire, light music and jazz. During the evening, Mirco Soprani, Mayor of the city of Castelfidardo and Vincenzo Canali , Director of the international accordion Museum in Castelfidardo, will deliver the “Paolo Soprani Prize” now at its third edition.
The finale will be in the hands of the German Accordion Orchestra “Akkordeonorchester Hof”, conducted by M° Torsten Petzold which will interpret classic songs, original compositions, accordion music and progressive music and then the evening will be rounded off by the “World Accordion Orchestra” (WAO VI) directed by Joan Sommers (USA): for the sixth time the competitors of the Coupe Mondiale, delegates, jury members and friends will meet to play together in this unique formation.
On saturday August 25th, there will be the final trials which will lead, in the afternoon, to the declaration of the winners. At 21.00hrs, we take our leave from 65th Edition of the Coupe Mondiale, with the final concert, during which Nenad Ivanovic (Serbia), winner of the 64th Edition will perform along with this year’s winners. The closing of the Festival will be by the Ukrainian composer and concert artist Vladimir Zubitsky, accompanied by the “string orchestra Giuseppe Tartini of Latina” conducted by M° Marco Gatti.
Sunday, August 26th, at 18.00 o’clock at Albornoz Palace Hotel will see the “Saluto to Jazz”: concert held by well-known Italian accordionist Antonio Spaccarotella
