From September 6 to 15 will be held in Genoa the Mediterranean Music Festival, directed by Davide Ferrari and organized by Echo Art. The exhibition is now in its twenty-second edition and offers a wide variety of music, not only Mediterranean. This year’s theme is “Ecstasy and trance, sacred and profane,” and will be faced with a range of different proposals and original projects, selected on a transnational and “world” perspective. In this key should be read the shows that will animate different locations of the Ligurian city, among which “Transufism”, scheduled Saturday, September 7 at Palazzo Ducale. As you can read in the program: “an interdisciplinary meeting between the Algerian contemporary dancer and prominent choreographer Nacera Belaza, Anglo-Pakistani rough and scratchy electronics of leaders of Fun-Da-Mental and Gwana tradition in trance music of Lila: Sufism as a starting point”. The same experimental tension has inspired the project “Zeit Mantra”, Friday, Sept. 13 at the Castello D’Alberti: “The experience of Tibetan bells sound from integrated actions and visions”. Among the most interesting events also highlight the show “Canto harmonic shamanic” by Tran Quang Hai (Vietnam), Friday 13 at the Palazzo Tursi and “Mbira trance”, performance of Stella Chiweshe (Zimbabwe), the “Queen of Mbira”, which is perform Thursday, September 12 at the Palazzo Rosso. Among the Italian presences remember the Arakne Mediterranean group from Salento (Puglia), who will perform Sunday 8th at Palazzo Tursi.
