Once again accordion, musical emblem of Marche (Italy), is an important and international player. October 29th it was the first day for the International Competition in Prague, the end of the festival is November 1st. “The main aim of this event – said the organizers – is to follow the strongly tradition of the accordion in Czech Republic, previously supported by the European Festival of Accordion Orchestras in Prague and from the “Prague Accordion”.

The promoters of the Festival-Competition are the Club Tours Agency and Czech Accordion Association and the Prague Conservatory. On October 31st are going to perform about 250 accordionist arrived from eleven different countries of the world.

The competition is divided into twelve categories based on age and musical genre. The performances are held at the Concert Hall of the Prague Conservatory, in the presence of a jury made up of well-known musicians. The jury members are: Jorgen Sundeqvist (SWE), Làszlò Ernyei (HU), Josef Hrebìk (CZ), Mirco Patarini (IT), Jirì Teml (CZ), Ladislav Horak (CZ), Pavel Trojan (CZ), Stefan Hippe (DE), Georg Penz (DE).
