After Serbia, Russia, Bosnia, Spain, Italy returns to host, for the sixteenth time, the world final of the CMA (the Confédération Mondiale de Accordéon) on the occasion of the 61th edition of the competition that will take place in Pineto (Teramo) 13 to 18 September 2011.
“Italy is the cradle of CMA since it was led for over half a century by the late Secretary General Bio Boccosi in close relationship with the founder and president Charles Demaële (Belgium)” explains Frederic Deschamps, president of the confederation.”Renzo Ruggieri internationally renowned jazz musician – continued Deschamps – has convinced Filippo D’Agostino, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Pineto and then the executive board of the CMA – composed by Jacques Mornet (General Secretary), Raymond Bodell (Vice-President ) and myself – that the competition, should finally returns to its roots in Italy after a long journey through the world”.
There’s no shortage of changes in this edition, indeed will be present two new categories for the diatonic accordion, keeping the national category that was introduced for the first time last year. Some news for the enrollment in the competition are easier than previous editions with the option to register online (for more information consult the rules on the site of the CMA along with all the logistical information related to hotels and city map of Pineto ).
“Renzo Ruggeri – Deschamps in conclusion – is very practiced in organizing national and international events on the accordion, which gives him the skills and knowledge necessary to hold the 2011 edition of the International Trophy at a very high standard.”
