It has also renewed this year the appointment with “Spello Spendens”, the set of initiatives dedicated to the rediscovery of some ancient and traditional instruments and repertoire. The festival is organized by the European Studies Center of Medieval Music “Adolfo Broegg”, from Micrologus Music Association and the City of Spello. It was opened on December 27 and will run until January 5 through a rich program and, as always, intended to bring out the most significant features of a musical tradition unknown to most people. How can read in the notes to present the event, some of the music they played a key role in Christmas traditions, especially those related to certain instruments like bagpipes. Instruments that will star in concerts and meetings organized with the Italian best groups. There will be presentations and master classes, as well as “Bagpipes and Lentils”, the musical walk, “with free gathering of musicians, which renews the propitiatory tradition supply of food, thanks to the collaboration of the restaurant owners of the historic center of Spello with the always welcome participation of the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Piero Brega, Oretta Orengo, and Maddalena Scagnelli & Franco Guglielmetti group Enerbia (from Appennino Piacenza)”.
The concerts are free and take place in the auditorium of the Centro Studi “Adolfo Broegg”, the Theater Subasio, and in the beautiful Church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Also the musicians in their concerts, will present the characteristics of the repertoire and the instruments used.
