He left us Valentino Paparelli, researcher and scholar of popular music in Umbria. His work is mainly related to repositories of the oral tradition of Valnerina, who has crossed several times since the early seventies. In some cases, conducted his research with Sandro Portelli, a scholar of history and American culture, but also frequent visitor to the popular world of our regions and promoter of the Circolo Gianni Bosio of Rome.
Among the reports of his research in Valnerina, remember, with Portelli, the disc Valnerina ternana. A proposal for a research / intervention (1972-1975), released in 1976 for the label Dischi Del Sole and recently republished by the publisher Squilibri in book format with two CDs. Also for Squilibri, in 2009, published L’Umbria Cantata. Music and ritual in popular culture, with a volume attached four CDs, in which Paparelli brings together his reconnaissance of the seventies.
