Winslow King bandLuke Winslow-King is a guitarist and singer from Detroit but naturalized in New Orleans. In the city of music, the city of blues, where Luke has completed his musical studies – which began with a classical education – and met the “big” friends and traveling companions, including Esther Rose, washboard player, and Roberto Luti, italian slide guitar virtuoso who often accompanies Winslow-King on tour in sour country (he instead met bassist Cassidy Holden in New York). After the debut album in 2009, entitled “As April To May”, in 2012 published “The Coming Tide”, the album with which Winslow-King opens to the world and, more importantly, meets the interest of a certain Jack White, who invited him to open his concerts. At the same time he began to work with the greats of American blues scene, including Taj Mahal, John Boutte, Tower Of Power, Rebirth Brass Band. These experiences led him to develop a more personal style and, at the same time, cosmopolitan, in which you clearly recognize the influence of the great American tradition and the ability to interpret a new sound, reminiscent of ragtime, blues and rock. His new album, titled “Everlasting Arms” was released recently for the prestigious Bloodshot Records – historical independent label in Chicago, founded in the first half of the nineties, which produces, among others, Ryan Adams and Neko Case – and confirmed him undisputed representative of the “Nu-Acoustic Blues in New Orleans”.
