Sunday, February 8 will be held in Rome, the former Testaccio Slaughterhouse-Factory Pelanda, “States General of the new music in Italy”, organized by Mei, the Meeting of independent labels. On the work table will feed multiple themes and, above all, will help to define the contours musicians, event organizers, media and scholars. It begins, in fact, at 15.00, to reflect on the theme “The future of the emerging festival in Italy”, to which are invited to attend the emerging festival organizers, associations, operators and, in general, operators and entities that working in this field. The meeting will be coordinated by Roberto Grossi (Varigotti Festival / Festival of the Caravan) and Michael Lionello (Voices for Freedom) and will be addressed through some topics such as: “Do network. Experiences and proposals for shares and economies of scope and scale”,”The search for resources. Self-financing, sponsorship, public funding”, “The role of the media: the absence of public service television and the involvement of the radio”, “The headline and the relationship with Booking agencies”, “The critical organizational and relationship with local authorities”,”requests to the Government and public bodies and the absence / presence of Rai”. At the event there will be a meeting involving more directly music of oral tradition. It is a debate on “Write the tradition. The state of the art research in the traditional Italian music. Panel discussion on publishers in comparison” and promises to be an important analysis of the central themes under Italian music publishing. The board meeting is promoted and coordinated by Blogfoolk and will see the participation – as well as Salvatore Esposito and Ciro De Rosa, respectively managing editor and editor in chief of Blogfoolk – Giancarlo Palombini (ethnomusicologist and professor at the University of Perugia) , Vincenzo Santoro (ANCI), Domenico Ferraro (Publisher Squilibri), Luigi Chiriatti (Publisher Kurumuny). On the sidelines of the panel discussion, in collaboration with MEI, will be delivered to Riccardo Tesi the Award “Blogfoolk Choise-World Music Record of the Year” for the album “May”.
