Despite the inexorable decline of the recording industry and especially the sale of traditional media, affected not only by piracy, but in an ever increasing, by new forms of enjoyment of music, flourish also in the field of popular music many new musical productions. Our country can not be counted among those who direct more attention to the music inspired by the expressions of oral tradition – music covering a wide range of combinations and new genres, and that arise from collaborations and comparisons between very different artists – but many in the world things happen. For several months, for example, social networks conveyed the news of the new album of the Nigerian guitarist Omara Moctar, said Bombino. The album finally came out, no less than for Nonesuch Records. It’s called “Nomad” and boasts the production of Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. Although, on a structural level, not experience any particular novelties compared to previous works of the guitarist of Agadez, the arrangements have been positively affected by the place of processing, Nashville, and of course, the contribution of Auerbach. In fact, the sounds of desert rock dialogue with a more pronounced rhythmic section, and guitars, which also have a prominent role here, find a deeper breath and interaction with the all-new phraseology of the organs and the atmosphere markedly more rock and retro Auerbach has taught us to appreciate.
