The Circolo Gianni Bosio has organized two important evenings that announce interesting not only for those who follow the popular music and its various forms, but also for those who have interest in the folk world in general. The event will take place on 20 and 21 February, and providing for the submission of the CD “Un mondo intero”, where are conveyed recordings of the feast of the Lega di Cultura di Piadena, and a screening of the documentary “I Paisan” by Giuseppe Morandi. The two evenings will be held respectively at the House of Memory and History (Via San Francesco di Sales , 5), and the Sala Piccolo Apollo-Centro Aggregativo Apollo (presso Istituto Galilei, via Bixio, 80 b). On the evening will also feature the concert “Isula tyrants” of the Sicilian group Unavantaluna.

We start from the CD. It is a collection of “evidence” of a now historic appointment (musical and political), which takes place every year in late March in Piadena (CR) at the Lega di Cultura. The work is edited by Alessandro Portelli (who is the author of the recordings that compose the Cd and the President of the Circolo Gianni Bosio), and a selection of songs performed by “vocal and instrumental groups from different backgrounds (Italy, Portugal , Spain, France) participating in the festival bringing their repertoire of folk, social and political songs. To these are added and then the executions of the singers of the group of the Canzoniere “I giorni cantati” by Calvatone and Piadena and the recent recording (2013) of the original storytellers Jajit of Punjab (India). The collection is completed some trips recorded during the debates, which are organized in the days of the Feast”.

The documentary “I Paisan” is a collection of “some of the best short films made by Giuseppe Morandi from the late ’50s to the late ’60s , including a job in 1991 : El Pasturin (1956), Morire d’estate (1957), Inceris li barbi (cernono le barbabietole) (1964), El Vho (1966), La giornata del bergamino (1967), Jon, du, tri, quater, sach. La spartizione del granoturco (1967), L’amadasi la massa l’och (1967), Tonco, la festa del Tacchino (1967), Cavallo ciao (1966-1967), Barattieri el massa el nimal (1966), El calderon (1991)”. Morandi, records and photographer, is also the author of “Spoleto 1964 Bella Ciao. Il Diario”, a book critical to the history of studies of the music of protest in Italy, which contains the record of the famous concert that the Nuovo Canzoniere Italiano performed at the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto in 1964.
