We open the new month with positive and interesting news. Especially in relation to the cultural horizon of our country, in which all cultural production is struggling and in particular the music (and more traditional) encounters great difficulties. It’s about Puglia Sounds Record project, the only fund in Italy – as can be seen these days on various media that deal with not only popular music – supporting the new record productions. Puglia Sounds Record is linked, as is evident, with Puglia Sounds, the program of the Region of Puglia dedicated “to the development of the music system” understood (finally) as an organic set of initiatives and above all professionalism, “that contribute to the production, distribution and promotion of musical territory”. In Puglia Sound – as our readers know by now – is attributable also “Medimex”, that is, the musical salon of innovation, whose fourth edition was held in Bari from October 30 to November 1, 2014, saw the participation of artists, operators, record companies, journalists from around the country. The Puglia Sounds Record is a section of the program devoted exclusively to music production. It works precisely because of all these programmatic convergence. And the numbers are a demonstration, as well as the quality of the artists produced. First, the new record productions announced, and that will come out by June 30, 2015, are seventeen. Among the projects funded include the new album (for the label Dodicilune) by singer from Salento Rachele Andrioli, of BandAdriatica (label Finisterre), the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino (album that celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the ensemble, produced by Ponderosa), Officina Zoe (Anima Mundi), Radiodervish (Cosmasola) and the trio of Nando Di Modugno, Gabriele Mirabassi and Pierluigi Baldacci (label Dodicilune).
