The Orchestraccia is a fairly young project, launched in 2010, in which converge musicians, actors, directors and subjects involved in different ways in the world of art and social networks. As the name probably suggests, the collective is from Rome. Not only: they use the roman dialect to sing and talk and, according to statements of the protagonists, the “romanità” (with all that may mean for the reader) is the trend of union, the line that they all follow and the expression of an innovative project, where the arts come together in a representation of the rustic but charming, raw and direct, dynamic and sharp code.
In recent months Orchestraccia has performed live more than in the past, demonstrating the strength of his message: timeless songs of the roman traditional repertoire, theater sketches that frame the music in a more defined frame, without stiffening the dreamy atmosphere of the shows.
Their intent is also a political. And if it does not, willingly accept the weight of the songs that they sing, as well as the comparison with the political and cultural reality of the Italian scenario. Among the workhorse of the group there is “Lella “, a well known song in Rome and sang in every sauce that perhaps many do not know (perhaps because they remember only the air of the chorus), deals with the issue of femicide . Not later than one year the company performed at the occupied Teatro Valle, with special guest actor Elio Germano.
The first disc of the ensemble, entitled “Sona Orchestraccia sona”, will be released on October 28. Some tracks (“Lella”, “Renella”, “In bianco Natale”, “Un’occasione bellissima” ) are already available on iTunes.
