From May 10 to 13 will take place the new edition of Folk Nostrum, the event dedicated to the “Travelling by sea” and the popular traditions of the Mediterranean. It starts from Civitavecchia and you get to Barcelona, via a cruise trip that aims to explore some aspects of the music and, in general, the traditional cultures related to the sea.
The title of the event is “The myth of the Mediterranean. Voices and music of the Travelling by sea” and will be presented through a number of meetings and workshops held by the leaders of the Flumen Cultural Association and by some scholars and musicians, such as Nando Citarella, Nathalie Leclerc, Stefano Saletti, Barbara Eramo, Pejman Tadayon and Gabriella Aiello. Among the initiatives planned during the four-day trip (one of which will be devoted entirely to the visit of Barcelona) we remember those that follow:
“Gathering and Bacchanalia “. Folk dances and percussion. Folk traditions, research, folklore and movement.
“Goodbye, my beloved shores “. Vocal styles and techniques of interpretation. Songs and music of the Mediterranean.
“The Song of the Sirens”. The folk songs “archives of the people”. Workshop on women’s oral tradition Italian songs.
“Passage to the Orient”. Browse through Sufis music, dance and oriental culture.
