OMA BouzukiThe twenty-first century will be remembered as the years of the multi-ethnic orchestras. And thank goodness, because what we do hear is enthralling and inspiring project always reflect positive cultural aspect.

The music comes from experimentation and, as it happens in the most successful projects, is inspired by the interaction between the musicians. At the center of all there are different levels of knowledge. The knowledge of music and the techniques of their own instruments. The process of knowledge of the music of the other components – Italian, Indian, Moroccan, etc.. The knowledge derived from the construction of structures and synthesis of different methods.

The start of the millennium was marked by the birth of the POV, the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, who thanks to the coordination of Mario Tronco opened the new course of a world music free from the burden of rethoric representations.

In these years is emerging the experience of AOM, the Orchestra Multiculturale di Arezzo. Unlike the first, is configured as an open laboratory, with an elastic and less defined structure. How specify the same musicians of the orchestra, the OMA has maintained “a permanent feature of the laboratory, which is still open to new entries, especially with regard to foreign musicians. The permanent laboratory, as well as many other activities also aimed at schools, that the musicians realize during the year in its territory, constitute a major contribution to the creation of a local multicultural society, in which diversity culture is seen as a value and a mutual enrichment”.
