A useful and indispensable handbook, written by Biscardi, Crisafulli, Gianforte and Mazzei, which is a valuable help for Accordion students and for those who intend to master their skills at Academies of Musical Studies and at European High Schools of Music.
Due to the (really rare) variety of examples, exercises and tips included, in fact, this volume is the inseparable study companion of those who want to approach a difficult and challenging as well as an exciting and satisfying path, from both technical (of course the first aspect considered) and musical point of view.
Time has gone by and luckily the charm of this instrument stays unchanged, and its extraordinary potential has grown limitless. In the last few decades, accordion was granted the access to repertoires such as contemporary music and jazz (in addition to the broader areas of ethnic music and the so-called “world music”, along with tango representing its natural domain).
With respect and admiration for a high-educational publication that can be dear and very useful to young accordionists by all means.
Matteo Pappalardo
