Mirko Casadei brings his famous Orchestra to London with a taste of Strictly Come Dancing” romagnolo – style on July 17th 2012 at 19.00. Mirko, heir to and leader of the Orchestra Casadei took up the baton some ten years ago from his father Raoul who wrote some really memorable tunes that filled the Ballrooms of the Romagna in the “ballo-liscio” revival of the 1970’s like La Mazurka di Periferia, Amico Sole, Romagna e Sangiovese not to mention probably the most famous song the Clan Casadei produced, forefather Secondo Casadei’s Romagna Mia. This, however will be the Mirko Casadei Beach Band – very much a new generation guise for the famous name. As well as the traditional Waltzes, Tangos, Mazurkas, Polkas and Quicksteps the band also specialise in Samba, Salsa, Mambo and other such Latin-American dances as well as a good dose of hits from the 70s and 80s.
Mediterranean guitars, sunny accordion, a mighty horn-section, abundant percussion and great vocals make for an entertaining fun-filled evening. The venue will be the Italian Cultural Institute in London’s elegant Belgravia, 39 Belgrave Square, London SW1X 8NX.
