The Accordion Association of Portugal, organizes from 7 to 15 May, the 20th International Accordion Week “Alcobaça 2016″.
The competition takes its name from the wonderful Portuguese town, Alcobaça, situated 12 km from the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and 70 km from Lisbon, with breathtaking sights such as the Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaça (World Heritage Site), Nazaré, São Martinho do Porto.
The International Accordion Week, directed by Diana Freire, will be part of the 21th National Trophy and 2nd International Accordion confirming the willingness of the organization to want to make the event more and more appropriate to the needs of the Portuguese music scene and not only.
The 2016 edition has been enriched by a new prize dedicated to VITORINO MATONO, whose statutory songs are all detailed in the Rules (download format attached to this article).
The main of this second edition, after the success of last year, is to give the opportunity to all accordionists to evaluate their knowledge and artistic skills with other musicians coming all over the world.
