From August 4 to 10, in the hinterland Gargano will celebrate the eighteenth birthday of Carpino Folk Festival. The event, in addition to being among the oldest in our country, comes as the result of different interests and projects, in which convergence has created space for a representation of the most dynamic elements of the culture of oral tradition of the area.
As you can see from the rich program – which over the years has hosted big names in the Italian and international folk-inspired music scene, as Vinicio Capossela, Andrea Parodi, Al Di Meola, Youssou N’Dour – every night offers different events, the purpose of which is to promote the territory through the elements most representative of the local traditional culture.
On August 6, the actor and director Sergio Rubini present a tribute to the singer Matteo Salvatore, who died in 2005. The title of the show is ” Di Fame, Di denaro, Di passione – La vita di Matteo salvatore”, with live music by Umberto Sangiovanni and Daunia Orchestra. The program is available here.
