One, a professor of jazz harmonization at the Domenico Cimarosa Conservatory of Avellino and “funanbolo” of the piano, the other fine accordionist in interpretation and improvisation, together they constitute a combination of the highest level. The songs performed were: Ancient Stones (composition of Giuliana Soscia), Migration (composition of Giuliana Soscia/Pino Jodice), Camorra III (Astor Piazzolla’s composition/arrangement by Pino Jodice), Libertango (Astor Piazzolla’s composition/arrangement by Giuliana Soscia), Freedom Tango (Pino Jodice’ s composition).
The concert finished with the much-acclaimed performance of the band “Concertino”, a Moldovan band consisting of 6 accordions, a piano player, a bassist and a drummer who literally wowed the audience with a little performance that was just a prelude to the concert to be held on 24th .The music was taken from “The Seasons” by Astor Piazzolla.
The evening also saw the presence of many dignitaries, local, national and international representatives including the Ambassador of Finland. Invited on stage at the theatre, the Deputy Mayor Stefano Lisci, expressed words of great satisfaction and gratitude for the work done by the staff of the Italian Accordion Culture Association for believing strongly in this project and for the effort that this institution has put in over the last 5 years in the Organization of the “Strumenti & Musica Festival”, which this year hosts the Coupe Mondiale. Mr. Lisci reiterated the Administration’s support to this event which is a relevant one and which over the years has attracted an increasing number of enthusiastic supporters and tourists.
