From 4 to 6 July in Florence will host the fourth edition of the Festival au Désert / attendance of Africa: an extraordinary opportunity for encounter between music and culture Tuareg, Mali, pan-African, with European and international musicians who have made the artistic nomadism their signature style. Not only concerts but an opportunity to exchange knowledge, compare, exchange, from which will come to life jam sessions and productions. Among the many artists who will be involved this year: the Tuareg musicians Tadalat (band revelation at the Festival au Desert 2012 Timbuktu), multi-instrumentalist and singer of Moroccan origin Aziz Sahmaoui (collaborator Joe Zawinul and founder of the University of Gnawa) Lansiné Kouyaté on balafon (son of the famous Malian singer Siramori Diabaté), the singer-songwriter “world” Piers Faccini, the electric guitarist and singer of Guinea Moh Kouyate, drummer Hamid Drake African American and still Paolo Angeli with its Sardinian prepared guitar (Pat Metheny has commissioned an identical), Pasquale Mirra, Dimitri Greeks Espinoza, Herve Sambe, Adhil Mirghani, Silvia Bolognesi, Jérôme Li Thiao you and the special intervention of Roy Paci for the grand finale. The Festival, in addition to music, African food, to stand craft, provides moments of depth on the current international situation, with a particular focus on Mali.
