March 12 will be inaugurated the Sound Archive of Campania, a large database that collects documents relating to the musical heritage and, in general, expressive of Naples and the region. The appointment is for 10 in the State Archive of Naples and is promoted by the cultural association Altrosud, in collaboration with the Archives of Mibact, the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the dialectology center and anthropology of Bellinzona, the Museum of popular arts and traditions of Rome and Rai Teche. It is a new stage of a project started some years now and has already seen the creation of digital copies of important ethnomusicological archives, such as Marche, Umbria, Abruzzo, Puglia and Basilicata. The project – as you can read on the site - pursues the aim to give back “to the local community representative documents of their own cultural traditions, facilitating consultation with scholars and enthusiasts in public facilities such as the regional offices of the State Archives or the National Library” . The publisher Squilibri, which often speaks in this section in relation to the role he has assumed in the study and dissemination of popular music of our country, is among the supporters of the project, as well as technical partner. The use case is related to the development of an IT platform, a square in an open source program, through which you can access the stored materials. The platform is equipped with a differentiated topics and methods system for research, through which can itself access the desired content. Once identified, the contents emerge through descriptive elements of general and technical information, such as date and place of registration, the data of the perpetrators, as well as the persons who carried out the documentation.
