Is taking place these days, in Rome, the Conference-Exhibition Materials of Visual Anthropology. It is a study meeting on issues of visual documentation in anthropology that take place every two years, and was designed in 1985 by the ethnomusicologist Diego Carpitella. The event is organized by the University of Rome “Sapienza” with the Central Institute for Demo-ethno-antropology and takes place, until November 29, at the Conference Room of the National Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions, from 9.00 to 19.00. Following the traditional formula of a workshop and discussion on topics of interest in glove anthropological research and documentation audiovisual, during the three days alternating projections and discussions in an intervention program that involves the most important scholars in the field. As you can read in the presentation notes, participate in, among others, Maura Picciau – museum director, Paolo Apolito, Rudi Assuntino, Sandro Biagiola, Francesco De Melis, Francesco Faeta, Francesco Giannattasio, M. Luigi Lombardi Satriani, Lello Mazzacane , Antonio Ricci, Simone Valitutto. The documents shown are selected according to certain categories, such as “between local and global economies”, “Visual Ethnography”, “Memoirs visual”, “Soundscapes”, “Heritage and museums”, “Ritual and celebration”. Among the documents to be presented, also, “Carnival and other stories: unreleased films by Diego Carpitella and Annabella Rossi”.
