Saria Convertino… fra cioccolato e successi! (1° parte)

Saria Convertino, enfant prodige, risponde alle mie domande con quella sua decisione armoniosa e determinata e quel sorriso accattivante in cui c’è tutta la donna del mezzogiorno d’Italia e tutta la donna che ha visto il mondo soffiando con le sue fisarmoniche note e musiche straordinarie. Mi detta il titolo… io sorrido e le dico… per la verità mi sarebbe piaciuto di più intitolare: Saria Convertino: successi al cioccolato! Ridiamo entrambe… Con questa nota dolce si prepara ad ogni esibizione, qualche quadratino di cioccolata noire è anche incipit del mio parlar di lei.

È umana Saria, non è un robot come si potrebbe pensare scorrendo il suo curriculum. È una giovane donna autentica, sorridente, colta, coltissima e semplice.

A quanti anni hai cominciato a far musica?

Giovanissima! Nessuno in casa faceva musica… Un giorno ho visto una fisarmonica e quello strumento credo proprio mi abbia parlato. I miei colsero l’entusiasmo e me la regalarono per Natale. Da allora non l’ho più lasciata. Mio padre contattò l’insegnante del mio paese, Patrizia Miccolis, e inziai a studiare musica privatamente. Avevo solo 8 anni!

Per laurearsi con il massimo dei voti, la lode e la menzione d’onore al Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia” in Roma.

Sì, ho studiato sotto la guida del M° Massimiliano Pitocco diplomandomi in fisarmonica nel 2008 con il massimo dei voti. E non mi sono fermata! Presso lo stesso Conservatorio, nel 2011, ho conseguito il diploma Accademico di II livello in Fisarmonica sempre con il M° Pitocco e ancora un 110 e lode; a seguire, nel 2014, il diploma Accademico di II livello in Musica da Camera con il M° De Matteis e qui il 110 e Lode s’accompagna alla Menzione d’Onore. Come ultimo da citare, perché in fondo non si finisce mai, lo scorso 1 Dicembre ho conseguito il Master di II Livello in Interpretazione della musica Contemporanea, con 110/110, rilasciato per la prima volta dall’unico Conservatorio in Italia, il Santa Cecilia di Roma.

La cioccolata fondente è sempre in borsa, dunque! È lei che dà energia ai suoi muscoli per poter muovere il mantice dell’Accordion a piano e del Bayan? Perché lei le suona entrambe… Qual è la differenza? Ride, poi mi dice:

Sì, la porto con me per ogni concerto… adoro quella al 72% di cacao amaro. Dunque, per Accordion s’intende la fisarmonica a Piano con i tasti come quelli del pianoforte, mentre il Bayan, in cui pure sono specializzata, ha tasti simili a quelli di una antica macchina da scrivere, piccoli e tondi; non è semplice suonarle entrambe, oltre alla differenza dei tasti, ci sono le due meccaniche, completamente diverse.

Ma lei nasce sulla fisarmonica a piano, è con lei che ha vinto i suoi Premi più importanti, a cominciare dalla Coupe Mondiale nel 2003?

Sì è così, ma le adoro in pari misura. Nel 2003 con mio papà iniziammo a viaggiare ogni 15 giorni dalla Puglia, (la domenica perché non si andava a scuola ed io frequentavo il Liceo Scientifico), per prendere lezione col M° Gianluca Pica ad Anagni (FR). Ogni viaggio era entusiasmante perché la mia passione si concretizzava sempre più e vedere mio padre orgoglioso di me era la mia più grande gioia. E cosi, col Maestro decidemmo di preparare il programma per affrontare i concorsi. Alla selezione sono stata scelta per rappresentare l’Italia al Trofeo Mondiale C.M.A. (cat. junior) per poi partecipare in Ungheria alla finalissima; sento ancora l’emozione farmi vibrare le arterie ed il cuore! Mi aggiudicai il primo posto, La “Coupe Mondiale Junior”… sapesse che festa grande mi organizzarono a Mottola!

So che è del tutto raro, forse unico, essere così abile e versatile, oltretutto le insegna entrambe e, ancora di più, si distingue per aver raggiunto livelli eccelsi con le due tipologie di fisarmonica, per la difficoltà che comporta l’utilizzo di una differente meccanica, insomma due manuali diversi. 

Lei mi imbarazza, ma è la verità. Amo lo strumento, amo la musica, non potrei respirare senza la musica, non potrei vivere senza le mie fisarmoniche, ma non nascondo di faticare tantissimo, studio continuamente e continuo a specializzarmi con maestri importanti, quali: Frederich Lips, Viacheslav Semionov, Yuri Shishkin, Franck Angelis, Alfred Melichar, Jacques Mornet e non sono mai esausta. Qualche giorno fa mi sono tuffata in un’altra bellissima avventura che mi porterà presto in Corea. Ho tenuto una Masterclass, arrivata al terzo appuntamento ormai qui in Italia, precisamente a Roma presso L’AIMART, l’Accademia Internazionale di Musica e Arti di Roma, con studenti coreani della “LIFEMUSIC” SCHOOL di Seul. L’arte italiana travolge ancora una volta, tanto da far nascere un gemellaggio Italia-Corea, Sud Corea. Il soffio delle mie fisarmoniche mi spingerà fin là.

Possiamo parlare di soffio magico? Lo stesso che l’ha condotta sulle note della grande musicista russa SOFIA GUBAIDULINA, insignita alla Biennale di Venezia del Leone d’oro alla carriera. E lei ha agito su un arrangiamento per Bayan del pezzo originario per pianoforte: “MUSICAL TOYS” e poi lo ha presentato, in prima assoluta, il 1° Dicembre scorso all’esame finale del Master in Musica Contemporanea al Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia”.

Sì, è un soffio magico che ha sposato la mia passione inesauribile. Questa passione si rinnova costantemente e riverbera con sempre maggiore forza, con un trasporto di cui io stessa mi meraviglio e che porta lo stigma che fiorì in quella prima volta che vidi una fisarmonica. Il resto lo fa il mantice… gonfiando la passione di anno in anno, la gonfia, la nutre e mi dà la forza fisica necessaria a muoverlo… insieme alla cioccolata fondente. Presto ci saranno delle bellissime news in merito a questa grande artista, dalla quale ho avuto l’onore di essere stata autorizzata per la pubblicazione del mio arrangiamento per Bayan.

Saria Convertino… between chocolate and successes! (1° part)

 

Saria Convertino, child prodigy, answers my questions with her harmonious and determined decision and that winning smile in which there is all the women of southern Italy, and any woman who has seen the world blowing with its accordions an extraordinary music. She dictates to me the title … I smile and say … in truth I would have liked more entitle Saria Convertino: Chocolate successes, we laugh together. With this sweet note she prepares every performance … some piece of chocolate noire is also the opening words of my speaking with her.

Saria is a human being, is not a robot as you may think through his biography. She is a young woman, she is authentic smiling, intelligent, cultured and simple.

At what age did you start making music?

Very young, no one in the house was musician … I saw one day an accordion … that instrument I just spoke to me. My parents caught my enthusiasm and I received an accordion for Christmas. Since then I have never left it. My father contacted a teacher of my village Patrizia Miccolis and I started studying music, I was only 8 years old.

To graduate with full marks and honourable mention at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome.

Yes, I studied under the guidance of Massimiliano Pitocco, graduating in accordion in 2008 with honours. I did not stop; at the same Conservatory, in 2011, I obtained the Academic Diploma of second level in accordion, always with Maestro Pitocco and even a 110 and praise; follows, in 2014, the academic degree of II level in chamber music with Maestro De Matteis and here magna cum laude is accompanied by the Honourable Mention; and moreover last December 1^st I obtained the II Level Master in interpretation of contemporary music, with grade110/110, released for the first time by the only Conservatory in Italy, the Santa Cecilia in Rome.

So, the dark chocolate is always in your bag! It is chocolate which gives energy to your muscles to move the bellows of your piano Accordion and Bayan? Because… she plays them both. What is the difference? She laughs, then says:

Yes, I carry with me every concert… I like that with 72% of cocoa. So, Accordion I mean piano accordion; It has the keys like those of the piano, while the Bayan – in which well I am specialized – has buttons similar to those of an old typewriter, small and round; it is not easy to play them both, in addition to the difference of the keys, they have two different mechanic system.

Anyway she startes with piano accordion, with it she who won her most important Awards, for example the Coupe Mondiale in 2003?

Yes, It is so, but I love them equally. In 2003, with my dad we began travelling every 15 days from Puglia, (on Sunday because I did not go to school and at that time I attended the High School), to take lessons with Maestro Gianluca Pica in Anagni (FR). Each trip was exciting, because my passion was realized more and more, and to see my father proud of me was my greatest happiness. And so, with the Maestro we decided to prepare the agenda for tackling accordion competitions. The selection have been chosen to represent Italy at the World Trophy C.M.A. (Junior categorie) and then I took part in Hungary to the finals; I still feel the thrill me vibrate the arteries and the heart. I also won the first place, of the “Coupe Mondiale Junior Categorie” … In Mottola it was organized a big party!

I know that it is quite rare, perhaps unique, be so clever and versatile, plus you teach both and, even more, you stand out for having reached excellent levels with both accordions, for the difficulties that involves using different systems.

You get me embarrassed, but it’s true. I love the instrument, I love music, I could not breathe without the music, I could not live without my accordions, but I cannot deny to sweat a lot, continuous and continuous study to specialize with important teachers, such as: Frederich Lips, Viacheslav Semionov, Yuri Shishkin , Franck Angelis, Alfred Melichar, Jacques Mornet and sometimes I am inexhausted. A few days ago I dived into another beautiful adventure that will take me soon in Korea. Moreover, I held a Masterclass, which is arrived to the third edition, for Korean students of LifeMusic School of Seoul. It was in Italy, in Rome at The Aimart, the International Academy of Music and Arts in Rome. The Italian art overwhelms again, so as to create an Italian-South Korean twinning. The breath of my accordions will push me right there.

We can talk about magical breath? The same that led you to the notes of the great Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina, awarded at the Biennale di Venezia del Leone d’oro to the lifetime. And you played an arrangement for Bayan of the original piano piece: “MUSICAL TOYS” and then presented it, in premiere, on last December 1^st during the final exam of Master in Contemporary Music at the Conservatory “Santa Cecilia”.

It is a magical breath that married my inexhaustible passion. This passion is constantly renewing itself and reverberates with increasing force, carried under myself and I marvel that bears the stigma that flourished in that first time I saw an accordion. The rest is done by inflating the bellows … the passion year after year, the swollen, nourishes and gives me the physical strength to move … with the dark chocolate. Soon there will be some wonderful news about this great artist, from which I had the honour to have been authorized for the publication of my arrangement for bayan.
