Nasce “Midi MasterPlay” l’ultima evoluzione di suoni per la fisarmonica e tastiera digitale della MASTERMIDI

 

Castelfidardo (AN) – Nel 1986 fu la fidardense Master ad applicare, prima azienda al mondo, la tecnologia midi su una fisarmonica per trasformarla in una vera e propria orchestra in grado di gestire i suoni elettronici. Vera evoluzione nata dall’intuizione di Antonio Toccaceli che nella sua piccola bottega artigiana di Castelfidardo seppe anticipare con intelligenza, e continua tutt’ora mettendo a disposizione ancora il suo ingegno, metodi innovativi di sicura presa e diffusione, a tutt’oggi anche su strumenti quali tastiere e pianoforti.

L’azienda, che ha successivamente mutato il nome in MASTERMIDI, al servizio della musica oramai da più di trent’anni, ha prodotto in questi ultimi mesi l’ultima evoluzione, quella tecnicamente e tecnologicamente più evoluta, in grado di offrire al mercato internazionale un midi innovativo e molto pratico.

Stiamo parlando del Midi “Play” che, oltre ad essere disponibile in versione di kit da installare nella fisarmonica tradizionale, ora è stato applicato anche ad una fisarmonica vuota dal peso di soli 6 kg. (dotata di amplificatori interni e radiomidi) e ad una rivoluzionaria tastiera a piano e cromatica costruita appositamente per chi suona la fisarmonica e che ne conserva  tutte le caratteristiche.

Il suo punto di forza è che in entrambe le versioni può offrire più di 400 suoni, riproducendo fedelmente l’impostazione e le caratteristiche dello strumento ad ancia in quanto è meccanicamente costruita con i stessi materiali artigianali della vera fisarmonica.

Per conoscere questa ultima evoluzione creata dalla MasterMidi ci siamo recati nei nuovi ed ampi locali di via Scandalli, alla periferia sud di Castelfidardo, quasi a confine con il territorio di Loreto. Ad accoglierci è Antonella Toccaceli, una delle poche donne attivamente impegnate nel mondo imprenditoriale della musica.

Ci può spiegare quali sono le caratteristiche di quest’ultima proposta di fisarmonica “MasterPlay”?

“Abbiamo pensato di migliorare quanto creato un paio di anni fa, realizzando in questo caso uno strumento elettronico funzionale dalla dinamica al mantice, in grado di “copiare” – mi passi il termine – i suoni della fisarmonica tradizionale in tutto e per tutto. Parliamo di uno strumento digitale a piano, interamente elettronico, dunque senza ance, semplice da usare, leggero (siamo intorno ai 6 kg), dall’uso maneggevole. Presenta l’ultima evoluzione dei suoni della fisarmonica con 400 timbri a disposizione. Insomma, con i giusti compromessi, richiama in tutto e per tutto il suono fedele della fisarmonica classica. Realizzata con amplificazione interna sia su canto che basso (una novità quest’ultima rispetto a quanto si trova oggi sul mercato grazie alla creazione di una apposita meccanica ridotta), è dotata di una batteria che alimenta lo strumento senza necessità di una presa e si può aggiungere all’apparato anche il radiomidi per suonare senza cavo”.

Una fisarmonica digitale a piano duttile, dunque, che può essere coniugata sia a livello professionale che per il divertimento?

“Assolutamente. Per conoscerne le funzionalità occorre pochissimo. Diciamo meno di mezz’ora e sei in grado di sfruttare tutte le sue potenzialità. Fra l’altro siamo riusciti a contenerne il prezzo, allo stesso tempo realizzando un prodotto di alta qualità. Un connubio non sempre scontato. Nella versione tastiera dà la possibilità a chi ha studiato la fisarmonica di adottare lo stesso sistema suonandola però in versione orizzontale. Abbiamo avuto molte richieste dall’estero, America del Nord ed Europa in generale, in modo particolare da Francia e Belgio per la versione cromatica. Chi lo utilizza nei piano bar ha scoperto invece, con piena soddisfazione, la poliedricità e la pulizia del suono. Ma non è da meno nelle performance professionali, oltretutto per la praticità che è importante per chi suona diverse ore su un palco”

Ci diceva del materiale di qualità. Ma è un prodotto tutto fatto in casa?

“Non le nascondo un pizzico di modestia nel dirle che ne siamo orgogliosi. È uno strumento realizzato interamente a Castelfidardo con lavorazione interna per la parte meccanica ed assemblaggio, mentre per la cassa in legno ci siamo avvalsi di personale qualificato sul posto (inutile dirle che in questa città ci sono in materia i migliori artigiani). Va detto inoltre che non utilizziamo prodotti d’importazione proprio per tutelare la nostra clientela”.

Per la parte creativa, quella prettamente elettronica, sicuramente la più difficile?

“Qui non ci sono dubbi. Per l’evoluzione del midi devo ringraziare unicamente mio padre Antonio. Continua ad avere idee a ripetizione, si mette in gioco senza sosta. È un ragazzino di 76 anni, per capirci, innamorato di questo mestiere. Con lui siamo riusciti a mettere in pratica oggi quanto aveva pensato venticinque anni fa. Allora decise di concentrarsi sugli strumenti esistenti, applicandoci il midi. Aveva volutamente lasciato indietro la possibilità del suo diverso utilizzo intuendo che l’evoluzione tecnologica avrebbe poi soppiantato velocemente quanti vi si fossero applicati. Aveva ragione. Perché oggi questo ripensamento? mi dirà. Oggi esiste una differenza. Sfruttando la tecnologia avanzata e l’evoluzione dei materiali, ed apportando altre novità, siamo riusciti a dare alla luce una versione volutamente di lusso (per le misure, per la meccanica, per l’amplificatore interno anche nella parte dei bassi). Abbiamo atteso forse 25 anni, pur avendone avuto la primordiale idea, nel frattempo realizzata da altri, ma oggi che “sul pezzo” ci siamo anche noi, siamo stati in grado di dare quel qualcosa in più al mercato della musica”.

Non si può fare a meno di evidenziarne la forma accattivante, un look giovanile…

“… lineare, moderna, leggera e se devo dire anche economica, in quanto siamo riusciti ad abbinare la qualità alla convenienza, che al giorno d’oggi è anch’essa importante. Queste alcune caratteristiche. Una parte lavorata in celluloide, l’altra verniciata in diverse tonalità. Colore a scelta del cliente con una base nera in vernice, trascurando volutamente la madreperla, usata invece per la tastiera. Un look dunque intrigante, non certo pomposo. Risulta elegante e pratico. Inoltre riusciamo a garantire l’assistenza per qualsiasi problema sia in Italia che all’estero in tempi velocissimi. Un aspetto non secondario che affascina chi acquista questo strumento “made in Italy” e, voglio aggiungere, … che noi alla MASTERMIDI siamo sempre disponibili ad accogliere i clienti e rispondere ai loro quesiti e ai loro dubbi in modo cordiale e simpatico, in quanto la nostra azienda con me, mio padre, il nostro tecnico Roberto (con noi da 30 anni) e tutte le altre persone che da anni lavorano all’interno dell’azienda, siamo sempre attenti alla qualità e alla soddisfazione dell’utente finale”.

“Midi MasterPlay” is the new born of MASTERMIDI, the latest evolution of sounds for the digital accordion and keyboard

 

Castelfidardo (AN) – In 1986 the Master company was the first one in the world  to apply midi technology on an accordion to turn it into a real orchestra able to hand electronic sounds. True evolution born from the idea of Antonio Toccaceli, who in his small artisan workshop in Castelfidardo could anticipate with intelligence, and now continues to offer his genius, innovative methods of safe taking and spreading, to this day also instruments such as keyboards and pianos.

The company, which subsequently changed its name to MASTERMIDI, has been in the service of music for over thirty years, has produced in recent months the latest evolution, the most advanced technology, both technologically and technically, that can offer to the international market an innovative and very practical midi.

We are talking about the Midi “Play” that, in addition to being available as a kit version to be installed in the traditional accordion, has now been applied to an empty accordion with a weight of only 6 kg. (Equipped with internal amplifiers and radiomidi) and a revolutionary piano and chromatic keyboard built specifically for those who play the accordion and retain all the features.

Its strength is that in both versions it can offer more than 400 sounds, reproducing faithfully the setting and features of the reeds instrument as it is mechanically constructed with the same artisan craft materials as the real accordion.

To get to know this latest evolution created by MasterMidi, we went to the new and wide spaces of via Scandalli, on the southern outskirts of Castelfidardo, almost bordered by the territory of Loreto. Antonella Toccaceli welcomes us, she is one of the few women actively involved in the business world of music.

Can you explain what are the features of this latest MasterPlay accordion suggestion?

“We thought to improve what was created a couple of years ago, realizing in this case a functional electronic instrument from dynamics to the bellows, able to “copy”- let me down – the sounds of the traditional accordion in everything and for everything. We are talking about a piano digital instrument, so it’s straightforward, easy to use, lightweight (around 6 kg), handy to use. It features the latest evolution of accordion sounds with 400 timbres. In short, with the right compromise, it invokes all the faithful sound of the classic accordion. Made with internal amplification both on the tunes and the basses (a new one that is now on the market thanks to the creation of a special reduced mechanical), it is equipped with a battery that powers the instrument without the need for a socket and you can add the radiomide to play without cables”.

A digital piano accordion, therefore, that can be combined both professionally and for fun?

“Absolutely. To know the features it takes very little. Let’s say less than half an hour and you are able to take advantage of all its potential. Among other things, we managed to keep up the price while at the same time achieving a high quality product. A marriage not always discounted. In the keyboard version it is possible for those, who have studied the accordion to adopt the same system but playing it horizontally. We have had many requests from abroad, North America and Europe in general, especially from France and Belgium for the chromatic version. Whoever uses it in the piano bar has found, with full satisfaction, the multiplicity and high quality of the sound.

But it is no surprise in professional performances, as well as for practicality that is important for those who play several hours on a stage”.

You were talking about quality material. Is it a whole home-made product?

“I do not hide a bit of modesty in telling you that we are proud of it. It is an instrument entirely made in Castelfidardo with internal machining for the mechanical part and assembly work, while for the wooden case we have used qualified craftsmen of Castelfidardo (it is useless to say that in our town we are dealing with the best ones). It should also be said that we do not use import products to protect our customers”.

For the creative part, the purely electronic one, surely the most difficult one?

“There is no doubt here. For the evolution of the midi I have to thank my Father Antonio. He continues to have new ideas day by day. He is a kid of 76 years, to understand us, in love with this craft. With him we managed to put into practice today what he had thought twenty-five years ago. Then he decided to focus on existing instruments, applying the midi. He had deliberately left behind the possibility of its different use, knowing that the technological evolution would then quickly supplant those who applied it. He was right. Why today this rethinking? You ask me. Today there is a difference. By leveraging advanced technology and evolution of materials, and bringing new innovations, we have been able to shed light on a deliberately luxurious version (for measurements, mechanics, internal amplifiers even in the bass section). We have waited for maybe 25 years, though having had the primordial idea in the meantime made by others, but today that “on the piece” we are also us, we were able to give that something more to the music market”.

I can not help but emphasize its eye-catching form, a youthful look …

“… linear, modern, light and if I can say, economic, as we have been able to match the quality to the convenience, which is nowadays also important. These are some features. A part worked in celluloid, the other painted in different shades. The colour chosen by the customer with a black paint base, deliberately neglecting the mother-of-pearl, used instead for the keyboard. An fascinate look, certainly not pompous. It looks elegant and practical. We are also able to provide assistance for any problem both in Italy and abroad in a very short time. A non-secondary aspect that fascinates those who buy this instrument “made in Italy” and, I want to add, … that we at MASTERMIDI are always available to welcome customers and respond to their questions and their doubts in a friendly way, how much our company, with me, my father, our technician Roberto (with us for 30 years) and all the other people, who have worked for years in the company, are always mindful of the quality and satisfaction of the costumers”.
